NASA and the German space agency DLR partnered to create the Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy (SOFIA) which is built on a converted Boeing 747SP and flies high in the atmosphere performing infrared astronomy that can’t be performed on the ground. Join Standley Lake Stargazing for a look at this mobile observatory as it nears the end of its journey.
