The annual Perseids meteor shower is one of the most exciting events of the year! With activity of up to 100 meteors per hour and almost no moonlight to interfere, this year’s display will be almost perfectly ideal for catching some meteors streaking through the atmosphere.

Join us for a watch party hosted by Majestic View Nature Center in conjunction with the Standley Lake Public Library, Standley Lake Stargazing and the Mobile Earth + Space Observatory (MESO), we’ll have crafts, snacks, and of course several telescopes set up to view some summertime deep-sky objects in between meteors. Feel free to bring a chair or a blanket!
