The interaction of electromagnetism and matter is studied in the field of spectroscopy, a powerful technique that unlocks the compositions and behaviors of the most distant objects in the observable universe. It’s how we know what a star is made of, even if it’s not possible to ever touch it with a scientific instrument. It’s also how we study passing comets and even the planets. Join Standley Lake Stargazing for an introduction to stellar spectroscopy and the fingerprinting of stars!
Hosted by Ron Havermann and Aric Vyhmeister
