One Giant Leap: The Genesis Rock and Other Lunar Paydirt

This week we continue our ongoing series “One Giant Leap” exploring the golden age of spaceflight, when mankind took the first steps toward the stars.

The last block of Apollo lunar landings had achieved the technical maturity to focus primarily on science objectives, having demonstrated the necessary engineering proficiency on previous flights. Over the span of these final forays, the Apollo astronauts gathered some of the most important samples ever collected beyond the surface of Earth, including the iconic Genesis Rock and much more. Join Standley Lake Stargazing for a deeper look at the incredible scientific discoveries of the final Apollo missions!
