Observer's Notebook: The Spring Sky

Spring is in full swing, and the warmer nights are a perfect time to get outside and do some observing, with or without a telescope! Join Standley Lake Stargazing this week for an overview of springtime favorites such as the constellations Leo, Virgo, and Cancer, as well as deep-sky objects like the famous Beehive Cluster and the giant globular M3! You’ll learn to find objects visible with the naked eye, binoculars, and a small telescope, with some fun trivia along the way.

We’ll also give an update on Donaldjohanson, the recently photographed double-bodied asteroid.

Reminder: Our Thursday evening programs continue throughout the year. Send an email to contact@standleylakestargazing.com if you’d like to join the mailing list and receive notifications about our weekly programs.
